Pet hospitals in Tianjin Municipality were crowded with cats and dogs over the weekend as more pet animals began to feel ill at the end of the Spring Festival week.

Many cats could not eat normally because they overate during the festival, and quite a few dogs developed tracheitis by inhaling excessive smoke from their keepers, who stayed with them longer than usual during the holiday.

A little dog even developed incontinence of urine after it was almost frightened to death by the detonation of firecrackers set off one night by next- door neighbors.

My kitten stayed cool with fireworks. We are in Shanghai where fireworks are not banned for years. He is used to them.
