you can not imagine how happy I was when I saw your reply. There is a very long way for China to catch up with the protection level of western countries. A local animal protetor in China commited suicide this year because she could not stand the painness of seeing all of these tragedies day after day. Really hope you that you could tell more of your friends about the facts in China and show their supports in any way.
你不能想象儅我看到你的回復的時候有多麽高興,對於中國來説趕上西方國家對動物的保護程度有很長的路要走。中國當地的一個動物保護者甚至自殺了,原因是她不能忍受看到每天發生的這些悲劇所帶來的痛苦。真誠希望你可以告訴更多的朋友關於中國的現狀,讓他們不論用何種方式表示支持。

By the way, the Shanghai Daily has current coverage about this issue including the movement to create animal protection legislation in China. I won't link here because it is so graphic, but that's where to start if you're interested in this issue.
I'm glad that you posted this, JenniferKwan and I hope things change in China very soon
