why neuter male cats?

Why have your male cat castrated? After all, he won't get pregnant.  It isn't fair to spoil his sex life, is it? He really enjoys fighting with other cats for females and territory. He loves those trips to the vet with torn ears and painful abscesses caused by cat bites.



You know he will enjoy running heedlessly across the road risking life and limb because he has scented a female. If he is a bit too slow, he will love getting hit by a car too. Fractured legs and hips are great fun, and if he doesn't lose an eye fighting, well, he could lose one this way instead.



Of course, he loves gambling. It only takes one bite from an FIV infected cat to give him the AIDS virus. So many of his fellows are infected it makes life exciting, doesn't it?  Better than Russian Roulette.
